Practice Assignment for class:
"Paint a face from a black and white photo reference using primarily a single color."
The single color we got to pick out of a bag at random.
I had a strange feeling that I was going to get blue...
Also, the T-shaped area of superior detail (eyes, nose, lips) was part of the assignment.

Simply beautiful. That cobalt blue was a lucky choice, it gave you plenty of room for contrast, and it really sets the tone. You handled it so well, from the cock tilt of the head to the expression, the whole thing is just... frigid. The variation in detail level is really visually interesting, like looking through clear patch on a frosted window. I don't think I've been given such an intriguing excercise... then again, I've never done any painting classes. Anyway. Short version: I dig this.
